The author conducted an extensive research for the book "Socio-Economic Conditions of the Vegetable Vendors and Moti Workers in Bhiwandi" to cast light on the lives and livelihoods of two marginalised groups in the city of Bhiwandi. Through an exhaustive examination of the socioeconomic conditions of vegetable vendors and moti laborers, the author has attempted to shed light on the daily challenges and difficulties faced by these communities.The metropolis of Bhiwandi is significantly expanding in the Indian state of Maharashtra. The city is renowned for its textile industry and is home to a significant number of expatriates from across the nation. Vegetable vendors and moti labourers continue to live in poor conditions with limited access to essential amenities and services despite the city's economic growth.The book provides a comprehensive account of the social, economic, and cultural influences on the lives of vegetable vendors and moti labourers. Extensive fieldwork has beenconducted to collect information on their working conditions, income levels, health, education, and access to social services.
