Nowadays, the world is constantly evolving in all the dimensions of life, and the human being is placed in an increased dynamism that leads him more and more to assimilate the new, to renew the remote, or to dispense with the obsolete. In this context, the cultural factor within societies is very vulnerable, and in the particular case of traditional games, these are in an evident crisis due to the irruption of the new technological devices that modernity has brought with it, which have captured the current generations, preventing them from knowing and practicing traditional games. In view of this, the present team of researchers carried out a sociocultural intervention where more than ten traditional Nicaraguan games were practiced with children, adolescents and adults of the Otoniel Arauz neighborhood in the municipality of Matagalpa. The investigation was carried out by means of the methodology of the participative action research that allowed to make a diagnosis, to elaborate and to execute an action plan and finally, to evaluate the impact of the sociocultural intervention.
