Socio-Technical Issues in Youth Employment in Furniture Sector

The aim of this study is to investigate how the technological developments implemented in the production processes and organizational structures of small and medium-sized enterprises affect the the employment process of youth apprentices in these enterprises. The furniture sector of Turkey is chosen as a specific industrial sector for this research. Unfortunately, the skill level of the young apprentice is very crucial when he faces a new technology. Can he handle it? Or not? If no, what happens to him?

L'autore è nato nel 1974 e si è laureato nel 1998 presso il Dipartimento di Sociologia e nel 2001 presso il Dipartimento di Scienze e Politiche Tecnologiche, dove ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca nel 2009. In seguito, ha lavorato presso l'Animation Technologies and Game development Center come manager. Dal 2013 lavora presso il Dipartimento di Sociologia dell'Università di Bäkent.
