Cameroon's infant and child mortality rate has fallen, although regionalregional disparities are observed. Numerous programs and policies have been implemented both nationally and in the northern region to address this situation. These include the 2011-2015 Health Development Plan, and the country's policy of free healthcare for children under five. A large body of literature has been mobilized by researchers to explain the various dimensions of the mortality phenomenon.
