Abstract The present study aims to deal with the representations and attitudes that teachers and trainees of the National Institute specialized in vocational training of Biskra develop towards the French language, its status, its importance and its different uses. To do this, we have developed a theoretical chapter reserved for key notions (specialty French and the Algerian sociolinguistic context). As for the practical chapter, two methods of investigation were adopted, namely the questionnaire and the interview. These methods allowed us to become aware of a different context than we thought.
