Die Autorin schloss ihr Pädagogikstudium an der Päpstlichen Katholischen Universität von Poços de Caldas MG mit einem Vollstipendium von Prouni - dem Programm der Bundesregierung "Universität für alle" - ab. Heute ist sie im öffentlichen Dienst des Bundesstaates Minas Gerais tätig.
