We have compiled this book as per the need of undergraduate and postgraduate students. And also with the aim that students coming from both sociological as well as non-sociological backgrounds should have a proper understanding of the evolution of sociology, major perspectives, basic concepts and also about the basic social processes in sociology. Our intention of writing this book ¿Sociology for Beginners¿ is to provide literature that is lucid, precise and easy to understand. In our belief, this book would be able to reach every level of students, teachers, researchers, and academicians. This book is divided into four chapters: 1) Emergence of sociology- enables us to know how sociology emerged in Europe and relationship of sociology with other social sciences; 2) Sociological perspectives- include important perspectives for analyzing social reality/social phenomena and major schools of thought in sociology; 3) Basic concepts- include society, community, association social groups etc., and 4) Social processes-include basic social processes such as socialization, social change, social control and social conflict.
