Librarian. Hence the performance of the Librarian affects the overall performance of the Library. Basic skills that affect librarians' performance levels are classified as hard skills and soft skills. Hard skills correspond to the skills in the technical and administrative categories and Soft skills correspond to the skills in the human conceptual, leadership, and interpersonal categories. Soft skills training should start from the college level and be incorporated in Library Science Syllabus itself. It will help budding Library professionals to know that mere technical skills are not enough and they have to work on their soft skills also which in long term is going to enhance their performance resulting in satisfied stakeholders. The present work studied the soft skill performances of Librarians working in libraries of higher education institutes affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University with special reference to the Western Vidarbha region. The modules of soft skill training suggested in the present study will surely improve the performance of librarians in terms of soft skills.
