The study discusses the possibility of using Solar Air Cooling (SAC) technology for Air-conditioning applications to reduce the energy consumption in Jordan, as well as, to reduce Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions associated with the consumption of energy produced from fossil fuels. The study also involved a field study of one of the SAC technology, which has been designed and developed in Jordan to determine the technical feasibility. The environmental and economic feasibility study has been done on the device used in this work in two scenarios. The results showed the relevance of the economic feasibility with electricity tariff, it also showed that the use of this device is feasible at a high electricity tariff; while there is a high risk on feasibility at a low electricity tariff. Moreover, the result of the analysis of environmental feasibility has shown that the use of this device reduces GHG compared with Vapor Compression Chillers (VCC) that use electricity.
