Building capacity and knowledge on the practical aspects of solar power project development, particularly for smaller developers, will help ensure that new PV projects are well-designed, well-executed, and built to last. Hereby, I present the first version of our book Solar Photovoltaic Technology and Systems: A Guide for Trainers and Engineers and hope that it will be a useful source that helps our readers to study the different topics of solar photovoltaic energy. It covers the topics on photovoltaics (PV): PV Basics, PV Technology, and PV Systems. I trust that this publication will help build capacity amongst key stakeholders, as solar power continues to become a more and more important contributor to meeting the energy needs in emerging economies.
