In the year 2036, humanity has achieved a nearly perfect digitally-based society, but a terrorist group known as The Liberators sees it as their mission to free humanity from the shackles of social media. Aided by a rogue tech billionaire, they detonate a nuclear device over the heart of technology, the San Francisco Bay Area, and instantly turn back the clock two hundred years on the eight million people who live there, leading to widespread chaos and death. In the aftermath of the attack, an ambitious young Senate candidate rescues his family from the horrors of the disaster even as more attacks are being threatened across the United States. The man behind the attack learns he has been a pawn in this global game. Only through an encounter with a mysterious stranger does he find a pathway to redeem himself and make amends to the human race which he had harmed so gravely.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Tim Knight has been fascinated by the use and effects of technology since his first published book, The World Connection, foresaw the importance of social media way back in 1982. He has since authored two dozen other books about computers, investing, and financial history. In 1992, he founded Prophet.net, which was selected by both Barron's and Forbes as the best technical analysis website on the web. Ameritrade later acquired the business, providing the service to its millions of customers. After selling his company, Knight created the Slope of Hope (slopeofhope.com), on which he has written almost 50,000 posts about culture, theology, politics, the financial markets, and the media. He has been a resident of Silicon Valley his entire adult life and lives in Palo Alto, California, with his family, multiple dogs, and thousands of well-behaved honeybees. Solid State is his first novel.
