For the environment, it means less energy and raw materials are being used to make new products, which reduces carbon emissions, while keeping valuable materials out of landfill sites and by so doing saving money for the university. Based on the literature survey, the author's contribution is suggesting the development scheme with the assistance of the student union, to get all the stakeholders in the University of Greenwich, Avery hill campus, especially the student involved by pushing the hierarchy of waste upward to reduction in waste creation. The issue of solid waste management boils down to the attitudinal culture.
