In Brazil, the textile sector is of great importance and has become increasingly concerned about conserving water resources, as an average of 100 liters of water are used to dye each kilo of fabric. Because of this concern for water resources, this research aimed to synthesize protic ionic liquids from the cationic base 2 hydroxy triethylammonium 2(HTEA), varying the anionic base A-acetate, Pr-propionate, B-butanoate and Pe-pentanoate, which resulted in 4 syntheses. The synthesized LIPS were used to study solubility measurements of three classes of dyes (acid, disperse and reactive), analyzed at temperatures of 40 ºC, 50 ºC, 60 ºC, 70 ºC and 80 ºC. The solubility measurements of the three classes of dyes in the LIPs (carried out in a UV-VIS spectrophotometer) were based on the principle of replacing water, which is the liquid medium most used by the textile industry to solubilize textile dyes, with the LIPs synthesized in this work. Based on the experimental results, it can be concluded that the replacement of water by LIPs in the solubilization of dyes in the textile industry (dyeing) has promising potential.
