Autorenporträt
Rajinder Pal is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo since 1991, and a Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada. He received degrees in Chemical Engineer- ing from I.I.T. Kanpur (B.Tech. 1981) and the University of Waterloo (Ph.D. 1987), followed by a post- doctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta. His research interests include complex fluid rheology, interfacial and transport phenomena, physical properties of composite materials, and non-equilibrium ther- modynamics. He has published close to 150 refereed journal articles, 2 books, and 5 book chapters on these and related subjects, including 6 papers in engineering education journals. He has taught over ten different undergraduate and graduate courses related to equilibrium staged separation processes, fluid me- chanics, heat and mass transfer, physical chemistry and thermodynamics. Professor Pal has been the recipient of several awards including the Sandford Fleming Foundation Teach- ing Excellence Award (twice), an Outstanding Performance Award from the University of Waterloo, and the Syncrude Canada Innovation Award from the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering. He serves on several journal editorial boards, and was an Associate Editor of the Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering for twelve years. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario, Canada.
