This book brings a current and relevant discussion to society, since the Covid-19 Pandemic appears as a potentially triggering context for several disorders, such as the Somatoform. The imminent possibility of the emergence of a specific nosological category is presented: the Covid-19 Somatization. A holistic understanding of the human being is sought, going through the sum and the psyche. In the first part of the book, the Somatization is approached from the perspective of the current studies of Psychosomatics, through bibliographical research, contributing to elucidate the biopsychosocial interaction in this process. The second part presents a documental study, analyzes the Clinical Management Protocol defined by the Ministry of Health for Basic Care, in order to verify if this protocol contemplates screening and an adequate approach to Somatization as strategies to minimize hospital overload. Therefore, the content presented here reaches a wide public: health professionals, academics and researchers in this area, as well as society as a whole, who demand articulation of forces to build alternatives that can minimize the effects of this pandemic.
