The monograph is a semantic-structural study devoted to the comparative analysis of the means of expression of duration in German, English and Russian, which develops a unified basis for comparing the ways of action duration in the three languages, i.e. The model of the language etalon of the content plan and the plan of expression is developed, the system of semantic features of action duration in the German, English and Russian languages and the means of expressing these meanings that belong to different levels of the language system are identified, the specifics of the use of different means for expressing the specific meanings of the verbal action duration in the three languages are determined and functional equivalents in the expression of the duration meanings in the three languages are established.
