Something's Missing…in Australia Crafted from her diary entries, Amalija Berc's Something's Missing…in Australia - tells her personal story of immigrating to Australia as well as stories of other migrant-friends and acquaintances who have arrived a decade earlier. Woven with the details of unwelcoming locals, isolation, betrayal, humiliation, and racism is a story of damage from other side as well: a product of strict upbringing influenced by Catholic religion. Amalija sought solace in marriage and her parents' beliefs but neither supported her in her time of need as a newcomer in a strange land.
