This is an inspirational story of a young man who would survive multiple near-death experiences. Imagine a troubled young man hit by a city bus and thrown 20 feet, rolling a convertible three and a half times without a roll bar, and colliding with a deer at 60 mph on his motorcycle. Now consider this same man accomplishing the following feats after losing his eyesight. Becoming a successful software engineer, the subject of an Academy Award-winning documentary, a driving force behind bringing a national baseball sports championship series to Colorado, and an avid cyclist who has ridden 70,000 miles over the past 30 years, who has skied competitively, receiving national awards for community service, directing a prison ministry for over forty years, and evangelizing worldwide. Son Glasses: A True Story of Walking by Faith, Not by Sight tells the remarkable story of Ron Barton, a man struck blind during a mugging at the age of twenty-six. This violent attack led Ron to re-evaluate his past and turn to Jesus Christ for his future. His journey demonstrates the love of God, the power of faith in Jesus, and the calling of God to persevere when days look dark. This book is more than Ron's story-it's an investment in your future. By learning how resilience through Christ's strength can help us overcome any adversity, we find that we are more than conquerors in all things. With God's faith-His faith infused in our soul through His Spirit-we can achieve extraordinary things, regardless of our circumstances. This book is meant to encourage the reader to believe Jesus spoke the truth when he said, "Do the works I do, and even greater things than these you will do." Ron's life is an example of how Jesus can take our brokenness - through our actions or the circumstances of others -and infuse His strength, stamina, and power into our souls. Let faith in Christ, the power of Jesus' Holy Spirit, and belief in the goodness of God launch you into a journey of incredible achievements through the Lord's supernatural blessings. Be inspired to see your future through the Son's eyes of faith. When life knocks us down, let Jesus lift us up.

Autorenporträt
Ron Barton was born in 1948 and raised on a dairy farm in Washington State with four brothers and four sisters. Diagnosed with poor vision at age three, he became rebellious, spending time in jails and surviving several life-threatening accidents. He really did not care if he lived or died. In 1973 Ron would embark on what was supposed to be a two-week vacation, but it became a journey that would change the rest of his life. In 1975, during a mugging at a bar in Colorado, a blow to his face would take his sight. Unbeknownst to him, this seeming tragedy would cause a total transformation of his life.Wherever Ron travels he always looks forward to being asked about his blindness. As he shares his story, he gets the same response, "you need to write a book." Read on and then you will know, as Paul Harvey would say, "the rest of the story!"Ron attends Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and is living in Centennial Colorado with his wife Yvonne and his service dog, Nicolina.
