After Robert King published his arrangement it was thought that it may have been written by Daniel Speer. Regardless of who wrote it, the great antiphonal writing suits 6 trumpets (2 choirs of 3 trumpets each). It has been transposed up from the original so an optional E-flat trumpet part has been provided for Trumpet 1.
