Autorenporträt
My name is John Hansen, and I am a Mathematics and Computer Science Professor working at Columbia University. Teaching helped me gain different perspectives of life. Born and based in Ohio, I am a Ph.D. in Mathematical Science in the Midwestern State of the US. Earning a Ph.D. helped me widen my academic career opportunities, giving me analytical and problem-solving skills right after my graduation. Fond of traveling, I have a natural curiosity to go where I haven't been because after a dull physical and mental routine, traveling helps me to rejuvenate my inner-self. I enjoy reading too as it is the best method to utilize time, and I love the fact that a good-sized book provides me with many hours of valuable knowledge and sometimes entertainment. I am an author whose guides on playing chess cover the rules and structure of chess tournaments. My passion for writing in all aspects of chess flows through the expert game teaching tactics I provide through my guides. In my books, I aim to deliver the most lucid explanation of different facets of chess strategy and have always been intrigued by how chess is a touchstone as an indicator of extreme, logical intellect.
