Autorenporträt
Rafael Frank was born in a refugee camp in Holland in 1939. His first few years were spent with his mother and father in the Nazi Concentration camp Theresienstadt. His mother and him were able to escape and eventually made their way to Denver Colorado, though his father Rabbi Gerhard Frank was killed in Auschwitz. Rafael moved to Michigan to get his PhD in Child Pyschology, and married Shirley Frank, who also was studying to be a psychologist. They went on to form a psychology practice in East Lansing Michigan, where they raised three children. Rafael has always palyed violin and mandolin, but only learned piano at aged 59. Together with his supportive piano teacher Robert Cornwell, he began to compose songs. His first book is a collection of some of these songs for children.
