Autorenporträt
Judith Koppens has been an author and illustrator for many years. Children are her most important source of inspiration. Their enthusiasm and honesty are always part of her work. Judith lives in the Netherlands and works as a teacher at an elementary school. Andy Engel has been professionally occupied with climate adaptation and sustainability for years. His knowledge and experience made him realize that change is needed to improve our quality of life. It is better to start with that message early, he says, because ‘children are the adults of the tomorrow’. From that conviction, Andy writes playful children’s books together with Judith Koppens. In this way he wants to show them that children can change something big by doing something small and easy. Nynke Mare Talsma was in born in Delfzijl (the Netherlands) in 1975. She studied at the Art Academy in Kampen with specialisation ‘children’s book illustration’ Since 1999 she works as an illustrator of children’s books and educational books. In her work she often uses aquarel, pen and ink, pencil, acrylic paint and sometimes self-made stamps. Together with her husband, and two children, she lives in the neighbourhood of Apeldoorn.
