Francis Tanos Dagher was a Lebanese writer and poet who was born on November 20, 1938, in Dahr El Maghara, Lebanon. He graduated as a teacher from the Lebanese Ministry of Education and worked as a teacher and Principle at the school in the village from 1957 until he immigrated to Canada in 1990. In 1964, he was a founding member of the Al-Islah Cultural and Sports Club in the village and during the civil war he taught in several schools in Beirut. In Toronto, Canada, he participated in "Poetry Nights" and was a co-founder of the Association of Lebanese Teachers in 1994. He sadly passed away in Canada on December 30, 2006.
