This work examines the South Africa national credit Act, 2005, and the lessons for the Nigeria credit environment. This work tends to observe how the credit facilities works effectively in South Africa unlike Nigeria that credit accessibility is a serious challenge. This inefficiency from Nigeria enabled some reform in terms of legislative and institutional frameworks to ameliorate the gaps in Nigeria credit environment and also effective consumer protection.It also went ahead to make recommendation, which it believed when imbibed and implemented, drawing from South Africa model, the consumer credit in Nigeria will be better protected.
