This book provides information on some of the South African broadcasting and information society policies implemented since 2009. Not all information and communication technology (ICT) policies are described and analyzed but only those that have an immediate impact on the citizen and user of the mentioned technology are mentioned. E-community or access centres are also described and their role in the education of users is also evaluated in this book. Most of the information and data are summarized and a next book could provide indepth information on these developments. These national ICT changes are welcome but more strides have to be made to improve national ICT statistics and bridge the chronic digital divide.
