Patricia Short is an Honorary Associate Professor of Sociology and former senior teaching and research academic in the School of Social Science, The University of Queensland, Australia. Her research and publications on gender and household vulnerabilities have focused on housing access in Australia; microcredit, migration and livelihood strategies in the developing world; and mixed economies of welfare. Moazzem Hossain is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of International Business and Asian Studies at Griffith University, Australia, and former senior research officer of the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE). Over the last three decades, his research has covered forestry economics, economic development in South Asia, telecommunications regulation, and climate change and growth in Asia. M. Adil Khan is an Adjunct Professor in the field of Development Practice in the School of Social Science, The University of Queensland, Australia and former senior policy manager at the United Nations, promoting the work of civic engagement in public governance.
