After some hunters discover Jolee's lifeless body in some deep woods in Madison County, north of Jackson, Beth's sole mission in life is to find her sister's killer. Along the way, she rekindles an old love with long ago college boyfriend, Mark Livingston, who is running for Governor of Mississippi in the general election. Mark has a vendetta of his own against a force so powerful he has no idea what he's up against. He joins Beth in her search for the truth as he searches for his own truths also.
