Sowerby Bridge railway station serves the town of Sowerby Bridge in West Yorkshire, England. It lies on the Caldervale Line 4.5 miles (7 km) west of Halifax and 21 miles (34 km) west of Leeds. The original station was opened on 5 October 1840 by the Manchester and Leeds Railway Company. It was severely damaged by fire in October 1978 and demolished by British Rail in 1980. The current station, which is not on the original site, was built in 1981. The station is unstaffed, and has been so since 1985.
