Fontane's novels and travel writings emerge as profoundly reflexive discourses on art and its function for the individual. Michael J. White completed his Ph.D. at St Andrews and now teaches German at the Institut de la formation des maîtres, Université d'Artois.

Michael White was born in Jacksonville Texas in June of 1961. A Boy Named Mark is Michael's first book writing project. He always knew he could tell a story. When he made up his mind to write the book, Mark was created. Michael wanted to write a book for many years. The book had been completed a year before it was published.
