The common policy of higher education and research belongs to the most important fields in the process of European integration and to the constitutive elements of the European Union. The authors analyse the process constituting the framework of higher education and research policy in Poland and Slovenia. Mojca Kompara is Assistant Professor at the University of Primorska (Slovenia). Her main research fields include Abbreviations, Lexicography, Computational Lexicography, as well as Language Technologies, Translation, and Bilingualism. Tomasz St¿pie¿ is Head of Political Science and Social Communication Research Unit at the Wroc¿aw University of Science and Technology, Department of Humanities. His main research fields include Philosophy of Culture, Science and Technology, as well as Technology Assessment, Research and Science Policy, and International Relations.
