Autorenporträt
The author is a Jamaican. She grew up amidst chilly Decembers, torrential downpours, and hot, lazy summers in the hilly landscape of Clarendon in Jamaica. She spent the formative years of her life living in Jamaica before immigrating to the United States. In truth, English is her second language. Jamaican Creole was the language her family and friends spoke when she was young. The author hopes that this work will aid in the process of officially legitimizing Jamaican Creole as a language.
