The study also provides innovative information to the public and creates awareness on the situation of the educational system concerning children with Muscular dystrophy. The methodology was mainly covered by qualitative research methods. For instance, unstructured interviews were carried out to gather first-hand information on special educational issues of Children with Muscular dystrophy. The main result of this project is that access to special or even mainstream education is a major challenge for Muscular dystrophy sufferers.

Shaarba B. Chady completed her BSc (Hons) Sociology at University of Mauritius in 2009. She is currently in Mauritius and pursuing further researches in the sociology field.
