Nowadays, spectrophotometry is still of a great importance in drug analysis. However, one common obstacle is the overlapping spectra. This problem can be solved by many different ways. This book summarizes four new spectrophotometric methods for determination of the antihistaminic drug, levocetirizine dihydrochloride (LEV), in pure and tablet forms. It also presents two ways to avoid the errors resulting from spectral overlap that are beta-correction and solvent-solvent extraction. The proposed methods are fast, simple, and cost-effective. The methods were compared with the previously reported methods and they were found to be accurate and precise. The suggested methods can be used for LEV anaysis in routine work and quality control laboratories especially in case of lack of the expensive chromatographic instruments.
