Sphagneticola trilobata, commonly known as the Bay Biscayne Creeping-oxeye, is a plant in the Heliantheae tribe of the Asteraceae (sunflower) family. It is native to the Neotropics and is widespread as an invasive species in the Pacific. Sphagneticola is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family, Asteraceae. Asteraceae or Compositae, (the aster, daisy, or sunflower family), comprise the largest family of vascular plants. The family has more than 22,750 currently accepted species, spread across 1620 genera, and 12 subfamilies.
