Spi ský tiavnik (Hungarian: Savnik, German: Schawnig) is a village and municipality in Poprad District in the Pre ov Region of northern Slovakia. The municipality lies at an altitude of 567 metres and covers an area of 18.364 km². It has a population of about 2150 people. Poprad District (okres Poprad) is a district in the Pre ov Region of eastern Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was almost entirely part of the Hungarian county of Spi , apart from two small areas in the west, around Vysoké Tatry, trba and Liptovská Tepli ka (county of Liptov) and around Vernár (county of Gemer a Malohont).
