Autorenporträt
JoAnne DeKeuster grew up near the small town of Waumandee, Wisconsin. She received a BA in art education from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. Continuing her study of art at Northern Arizona University, she received a master's degree in ceramics. Jo worked as an art educator for over twenty years. Five years of that time were at a small school in Fort Thomas, Arizona, teaching students from the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. That was where she developed a true love of Native American children. She also taught in Safford, Arizona, where a Navajo student inspired this story. Jo currently resides in Taos, New Mexico. An accomplished ceramic artist, she and her husband own and operate Enchanted Circle Pottery.
