Hello friend! Wouldn't life be boring without humor and imagination? Do you remember your childhood? Hello friend! Wouldn't life be boring without humor and imagination? Do you remember your childhood? All children have an unlimited capacity to create magical worlds with ordinary objects - a box becomes a noble steed or a flying dragon. A goldfish becomes a giant Kraaken. Then, as we grow up, we leave childhood behind and conform to the reality of the adult world. Childhood activities become nostalgic memories. Yet, perhaps a bit of that inner child remains and expresses itself through things like playing practical jokes, engaging in sports, writing or reading books, taking trips, painting canvasses, playing with our children, dedicating our time to a beloved companion animal or other pastimes and hobbies. So, my friend, welcome to my weird little world...from my inner child to yours. I hope you enjoy the book, and if you would like to see more of my art, please visit my website at dbaileyartist.com
Autorenporträt
I live in small-town Alberta with my three dogs and a cat. I attended college and university between 1987 and 1996 and obtained a diploma in Child and Youth Counselling and a degree in Psychology. In 2000 I obtained a Registered Social Worker diploma. I was a single parent raising three children, and I also worked part time at different jobs.Sadly, my son died in 2015, and his death impacted the course of my life. I have been unable to return to work and instead took an early retirement. In about 2017 I took up painting as a means of therapy.I always appreciated the wit and social commentary of Gary Larson (The Far Side), a humorist whose cartoon books I think are hilarious. I decided to try to follow his shadow as best I could and create a book of paintings that I hoped might be humorous to the reader.I have never had painting lessons (as you will undoubtedly notice) and I have muddled along and enjoyed creating my silly paintings, and I hope you will like them. The act of painting is very therapeutic for me and I have no plans to stop. I invite you to join me in suspending reality, and I hope you enjoy the book. Thank you, gentle reader!
