Two decades ago, Lisa Martin Capozzi produced her first television show for an NBC-affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota. Ten P.M. news production was a promising challenge for Capozzi fresh out of Journalism school at the University of Minnesota. Highlights included awards from the Minnesota Medical Association and the Minnesota Education Association, the creation of a weekly series entitled "Lifeline" at the Mayo Clinic, three national network stories and reporter interviews with President George Bush, Willie Nelson and numerous others. Capozzi went on to form her own Minneapolis-based production company, "Marketing Productions" after leaving the news business. She produced, wrote and directed television commercials and sales marketing videos. To fulfill her passion for acting, she studied the craft at the Guthrie theater in Minneapolis. In 1995, Capozzi moved to Los Angeles to build her professional union acting credits. Live stage credits included, "La Boheme," "Hansel and Gretel" and "Carmen" with the L.A. Opera. Television credits included staring roles on "America's Most Wanted" and "EXTRA" to pilots, "Panache" and "Spirit Connections." She was also featured on "That 70's Show," "The Nanny" and a Rosie O'Donnell T.V. promo. Her entrepreneurial spirit prompted her to create, market and run two small businesses while promoting herself as an actress. She created MC Casting, a casting company where she cast independent feature films. She also created and ran Prime Print Talent, a print management company that booked a talent pool of one-hundred-thirty-five actors for print jobs. Her clients included IBM, Target, Nokia, General Motors and Honda. In addition to writing "Spirit Connections," Capozzi has co-written a television pilot, "Fat, Flat and Broke" and a feature film, "Snowglobe." In 2002, she recorded her first singing CD with her husband, Ken. They are part of a trio called "Triple Stack" performing standards including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin classics. She also teaches writing and drama with her husband to L.A. inner city children.
