A compilation of 22 Spiritual plays for Christmas, Easter, and Other Occasions, written by a Black Christian Woman. The plays are practical lessons from God's Word in a simplified format injected with humor for the edification, inspiration and enjoyment to Christians and non-Christians alike. Working as scriptwriter, producer and director for the performance of these plays in her church for thirteen years provided the writer an additional way to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, enhancing Biblical knowledge to the writer, reader, play performer and viewing audience. Mary E. Smith was the first employee in her agency of more than 600 employees to be designated for the Management Intern Program in the District of Columbia Government. She received the Mayor's Employee Of The Year Award one year and the Second Runner-up of the same award four years later. She was also awarded the Mayor's Meritorious Public Service Award at the end of her tenure in D.C. Government for outstanding community service. She additionally received a Recognition and Appreciation Award from her church in Landover, Maryland for skillfulness in creative writing and for production of these plays in their church. Her interest in writing stories that subsequently grew into script-writing began while she served as president of her agency's Toastmasters International Club after writing and delivering a speech - winning first place in a humorous speech contest. Her interest was heightened in her role as coordinator of the first Youth Leadership Program of Toastmasters International at Woodson Sr. High School, Washington, D.C. Here her creativity was further challenged and exercised while teaching skills and techniques to teenagers, assisting them in the development of their thoughts and in oral presentation and evaluation.
