What do we mean by that loaded word "spiritual"? To commune with nature and feel part of something bigger perhaps? Or to light candles, burn incense and summon the supernatural? And do we need to be religious to be genuinely spiritual? With mindfulness becoming mainstream, many of us are turning to the practice as a way to de-stress, bringing much needed relief from the hectic pace of our lives. But can we utilise its dynamic quality to offer us a more comprehensive understanding of spirituality? With warmth and wit, Ondy Willson - an experienced practitioner and international teacher of mindfulness and Buddhist psychology, but also Mum, Nanna and Maverick - shows us how we can gain insights into life's eternally discombobulating questions. And not necessarily by changing our belief systems or trying to be something we're not! She talks no-nonsense, ego-busting self-discipline, then takes us by the hand and gently guides us every step of the way, showing us how to use mindfulness to make the titanic shifts of thought and action that can change lives. The content of this book is an inner scaffold for healing fractured selves and a crumbling world by using radical action on ourselves. To inspire us that transformation is possible, even for the most stubborn minds, Ondy shares candid examples from her own life and asks us to join her in a SPIRITUAL REBELLION!Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Ondy Willson is an international teacher and facilitator of mindfulness and Buddhism, a writer and storyteller. She specialises in secular courses that draw from ancient wisdom and contemporary psychologies. Ondy worked as a Drama and English teacher in Northumberland before moving into a Buddhist Centre in the Lake District, where she lived and studied for thirteen years. She then settled into rural Cumbrian life with her family completing her teaching career as Head of Belief, Philosophy and Ethics in a large secondary school. Throughout her career, Ondy wove in storytelling, writing and teaching Meditation and Buddhist Psychology to bring her central message of mental and emotional health and wellbeing to others. In 2003, she founded the Wellseeing Consultancy to offer training in mindfulness, ethics, and emotional intelligence to individuals, groups and the corporate and public sectors. She has trained diversely from lawyers and social workers to prison officers, teachers and children. Having created these successful courses, she promised her students that she would one day write the book to accompany the practices. This is that book.
