The beautifully illustrated story of Splash, a little purple fish who lives with his family and friends in the sparkling blue waters of Manly Cove. He is curious and adventurous, he sees seagulls flying in the sky and wishes with all his heart that he could fly like the gulls. Suddenly one morning at dawn his scales turn to feathers and with a mighty push of his big red feet he soars into the air leaving his shocked fishy friends to gasp in wonder. Splash soon discovers that the noisy hot world of seagulls does not actually suit him at all, he becomes lonely, hungry , sad and tired and wishes with all his heart that he could be a fish again. When the gulls plan a fishing trip for their lunch Splash realises that they will be fishing for his friends. He paddles out into the cove to warn them, and they tell him to follow them down into the deep water. As he dives down with them his feathers start to turn back into scales and he is transformed back into a fish again. He is so delighted to be back where he truly belongs in the quiet blue waters of the cove that he tells his adventurous story to all the other fish for many, many years , always ending with the wise words, " be careful what they wish for" .

Autorenporträt
Terri Cracknell was born in the UK. Her family migrated to Australia in the 1950's and lived in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges east of Melbourne. The nearest Art School was Swinburne University which Terri attended during the late sixties. This led to a love of graphic design and encouraged her strong affinity with colour which has always been the basis for her visual influences. Terri moved to Sydney in 1969 and embarked on a self-employed career spanning 33 years in the 3D environment of exhibition & graphic design. This busy career meant that until recent retirement Terri did not pursue her desire to write and illustrate children's books. Splash is the fifth title for this author, other childrens books being Goats in Boats, Crusoe's Web, Freckle and Pink Sugar Pie
