Givanildo Sousa Gonçalves est titulaire d'une maîtrise en biodiversité et agroécosystèmes amazoniens de l'université d'État du Mato Grosso et d'un diplôme en sciences agricoles de l'Institut fédéral de l'éducation, des sciences et de la technologie du Mato Grosso. Il travaille dans les domaines de l'entomologie agricole, de la phytotechnie et de la fertilité des sols.
