Ghosts. Spooks. Specters. We've all heard stories of things that bump in the night. Tortured spirits, restless souls. The stories contained in the pages are much like the first Spooky Tales and Scary Things, and that is that they are based on true events. Ghosts. Spooks. Specters. We've all heard stories of things that bump in the night. Tortured spirits, restless souls. The stories contained in the pages are much like the first Spooky Tales and Scary Things, and that is that they are based on true events. Spirits in the Attic: A lowly writer must find somewhere to stay for the night after traveling. Is the bed and breakfast he happened upon too good to be true? What tragedies befell this place? The Fall: Andrew couldn't sleep. He did all that he could. If it was on the market, he tried it. Pills, diets, machinery; nothing did the trick. Nothing, that is, until a chance advertisement about a miracle sleep aid scrolled by his social media news feed. It's worth a shot, right? What could go wrong? Father Figure: A family is protected by the patriarch of the family. When that member is unable to protect them, who will save them? (Based on a true story from my grandmother) The Frozen Eye: Under the Ice Queen's rule and watchful eye, one young girl must find a way to escape her dystopian hell. Can Alma save herself before it is too late? *As read in the anthology "Once Upon a Dystopia." In addition to a wonderful true story in the preface, I'm including a bonus story, "Roulette," which was a submission to the Veterans Creative Department, and won first place in the national contest!

Autorenporträt
Harry Carpenter, writer of "Tales from an Ex-Husband," and the "Fubar" series is a fan of horror, science fiction, and suspense. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, a city full of illustrious authors and performers, Harry began writing in elementary school. Only recently did he formally pursue his passion, releasing his first book "Tales From An Ex-Husband" in 2019. Harry has since won "Best Short Short Story" award from the Veteran's Administration writing contest, as well as being featured as a best selling author in local book stores. Using his experiences in the United States Army, various retail and fast food establishments, childhood encounters, and chaotic first marriage, he has developed a mind for creativity. He is a huge fan of cats, video games, and quirky science fiction and horror movies. He also films an internet web series called "The Web-Pool" on YouTube, as well as volunteers with the "Charm City Ghostbusters," a charity organization out of Baltimore who, as the name dictates, dress as the Ghostbusters 1984 movie. Harry now lives in Baltimore with his wife and cats. Follow Harry at www.hcarpenterwriter.com
