ERIC DUNNING is Professor of Sociology at the University of Leicester. He has also lectured in the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Spain. He is the co-author of Barbarians, Gentlemen and Players, Hooligans Abroad, Quest for Excitement, The Roots of Football Hooliganism and Football on Trial. CHRIS ROJEK is Senior Editor in Sociology at Routledge. He previously taught sociology at the Queen's College, Glasgow, and at the College of St mark and St john in plymouth. He is the author of Capitalism and Leisure Theory, and co-author of Social Work and Received Ideas (with G. Peacock and S. Collins), co-editor of The Haunt of Misery (with G. Peacock and S. Collins) and editor of Leisure for Leisure.
