Michael Eden has one big problem as he starts college life. He is good at science and rubbish at everything else: sport, money, social skills and girls. Especially girls. In short he is an utter nerd. Being analytical he is willing to try new and unusual ways of solving his problems. He befriends two very different sisters, Georgie and Charley. Georgie is an art student who needs him as a model. Charley desperately needs tuition in spreadsheets for her new office job. Michael quickly learns to appreciate that art and science are two sides of the same coin ¿ being human. Life gets complicated when a jealous ex-boyfriend decides to remove Michael completely from the scene. Our story, set against a background of modern Bristol, sees Michael's platonic and romantic relationships unfold. Autorenporträt
You've guessed; I'm a scientist or something. Yes, this techno stuff was my very bread and butter and, yes, spreadsheets played a big part, but we humans were always centre stage whether as teacher, an OU tutor or latterly a systems consultant to the Royal Navy. Some was easy and some not, but most was enjoyable, whether a lone specialist or a mere cog in some giant project. A whole bunch of ideas would avalanche down when I walked my dog. Why not write a novel about them; perhaps even two? The NHS in Bristol had saved my life, so put this techno stuff behind and try the arts instead! Dare to change! So that's me. I like most humans and other animals but especially dogs and horses. Jazz appeals, classics sooth, whilst rock and pop excites. I might make a stained glass window here, or a ceramic figure there; even take a turn at Charles Dickens. One more thing, I love the beauty of the West Country and Wales, here right on my doorstep.
