The purpose of the book is twofold (people with ADD never have just a single purpose or goal in mind). First, it is a memoir, a reasonably comprehensive record of life, valuable for both historical and self-reflection purposes. Second, it it is a gift to you, dear reader. It is intended it to provide both hope and encouragement to the many out there who feel like a "square peg in a round hole," never quite fitting in or meeting up to society's standards, unable to succeed along the conventional path, and feeling badly about it. There is another way, indeed many other ways, to be your authentic self and to live a life of meaning, purpose and satisfaction. Each page or section is filled with informative, entertaining and often humorous stories, as well as insightful critical reflection, which will catch and hold your attention, "A tour de force!" Nick D'Arecca has written the best extended case study I know of what it's like to live a life of untreated Attention Deficit Disorder. (ADD)" I wish I had a patient who approaches their lives with such total honesty and critical self reflection - even though he doesn't want to change! Deeply spiritual but grounded in practical experience and (un) common sense. I will recommend it to my patients, friends and colleagues." Dr. Charles Zeiders, Ph.D, Clinical Psychologist; Lecturer, Reformed Episcopal Seminary, PA; Author, The Clinical Christ, Malignant Narcissism and Power
