This is a fun book for adults and children alike! In this colorful book, Brenda delves into one thing that elludes most adults - how imagination coupled with curiosity and wonder has the power to lift us up in dark times. It's really a book for all ages through the ages. Her book inspires readers to find their own focus or purpose during a very difficult time. The book is a wonderful compilation of over 40 of her imaginative, brightly colored drawings narrated with captions that compliment them in a fun, thoughtful way. Forced to "stay at home" in a small mid-western city for almost 3 months during 2020's COVID-pandemic, she looked for ways to "keep from going nuts". She could bake cookies, clean closets, read Russian novels, do yoga or watch CNN for only so long. One day Brenda went down into her art studio, picked up a pencil, closed her eyes and drew a "squiggle". And another... and another. She colored them and they took shape. So she asked friends: "What do you see?" It became a sort of COVID Rorschach test. So she started doing one drawing each day and asking people what they saw. And boy, did they tell her! And no two people saw the same thing. Reading this book will bring a bit of sunshine to your everyday life and there are a few pages at the back of the book for you to draw your own "Squiggles". Share the book with your friends over a glass of wine and ask them what they see in the drawings! "Brenda's drawings are a beautiful mix of color. The captions compliment them in a fun, thoughtful way. Readers will enjoy the book as a means of bringing a bit of sunshine to everyday life in challenging times." She has a store on Etsy at Brendart. "I like to use mixed media. I love bright colors, whimsical ideas and putting touches of humor in my art work. I've used pen, ink, markers, watercolors, acrylics and even nail polish in my drawings and paintings. Art and creativity bring balance to my life. Having people look at my artwork and see them smile or laugh truly makes my day." Prints of the drawings in the book are available. For print information please email: orderprints@brendamurphyart.com
