System of Resistances and Capacitances (SRC), is a thermal and energy building simulation program which uses as input: an xml file describing a building according to the green building xml (gbxml) BIM schema, weather data obtained from a given weather file and user defined inputs referring to: operation schedules of devices, internal gains and simulation timing details. SRC performs thermal, humidity and energy calculations of building spaces following a system-based approach. SRC offers: interoperability, as it is gbxml compatible and thus no special input file format is required and separability as different operations (such as solar and view factor calculation routines) can be performed separately enabling parallel execution and reduction in the overall simulation time. Additionally, active (HVAC, fans,...) as well as passive (openings, blinds, ...) devices with characteristics and operation schedules defined by the user can be included.
