In 1952 it was intended to be transferred to U.S. Navy as a transport but was not acquired. 1965 it was converted to a dry cargo ship and renamed Green Bay. On August 17, 1971 it was sank in Qui Nonh harbour after underwater explosion caused by Viet Cong frogmen while discharging military supplies. On September 1, 1971 it was refloated and towed to Hong Kong where it was scrapped in 1972. This ship came to the United States in 1949 to bring over immigrants. On July 17, 1949 this ship docked in New York with passengers from Germany.
