It has a bed capacity of 660. It is the first in the Philippines and second in Asia to be accredited by the USA-based Joint Commission International (JCIA), one of the leading international healthcare accreditation schemes. St. Luke's was established in 1903 by the American Missionaries as a charity ward and dispensary hospital until it was transformed into an independent, non-sectarian, non-stock, non-profit corporation in the 70s. It takes pride in the sterling pedigree of great names that have helped transform a nine-bed charity ward into one of the most progressive hospitals in the Philippines and in Asia.
